Thitikul Stages Spectacular Win!
There’s no stopping the precocious Thai teenage phenom, Atthaya Thitikul (pictured) as she stays in sharp focus to claim the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit for 2021.
This weekend, she captured her fourth Ladies European Tour title with strong finish in Switzerland ahead of Norway’s Marianne Skarpnord.
It was a fantastic come-from-behind fight back for the young Thai as she battled her way to victory at the Swiss Ladies Open
The 18-year-old carded a 6-under 66 in the third and final round to finish on 16-under 200 and edge out Norwegian Skarpnord by one shot.
Thitikul, who won the Czech Ladies Open in June, started the day four off the lead but moved into contention with four birdies on the front nine and added another gain at the 11th before making her only bogey at the 14th.
She moved into the outright lead by holing a 20-foot birdie putt at the 16th and followed that up at the 17th to secure the victory.
Besides leading the LET’s Order of Merit, she is also in the lead for the title of LET’s Rookie of the Year.
Swiss amateur Elena Moosmann (68) shared third place with her compatriot Kim Metraux (72) on 14-under.
