Thitikul Ready For The Big Time!

Thai teenage amateur sensation Atthaya Thitikul (pictured) finished as the leading amateur at the 2019 Women’s British Open.

This is the second year in a row that Thitikul has claimed the low amateur honour. The 16-year old finished the championship in a tie for 29th place on 4-under par 284 to earn The Smyth Salver.

Thitikul, the inaugural Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific champion, was one of two amateurs to make the cut at the year’s final major.

The other was the current Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific champion Yuka Yasuda of Japan, who earned her place in the field this week thanks to her victory in April.

Yasuda finished the championship on 2-over par 290 and tied 59th place.
