Kim Smashes LPGA Record!
History was created on this day when an Asian golfer rose to a new level of super-stardom. Victory was not a surprise but to win in a manner that has never been achieved by any player on the LPGA Tour, is absolutely incredible. Just awesomely brilliant!
South Korea’s Sei Young Kim (pictured) has entered the annals of golf’s history as the first player in LPGA Tour history to go lower than 30 under. She put on this clinical display at the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic and she has installed herself as the only player to have achieved this distinction ever!
Kim closed with a 7-under 65 in the final round for a nine shot victory, finishing at 31-under par. That broke by four shots to par the record Kim had shared with Annika Sorenstam.
In the process. Kim also set the 72-hole scoring record at 257, finishing with a par to break the mark by one shot.
Another banner day for Asian golf! Congratulations Kim!
