Horschel Is King Of The Hill!

What a day for veterans as two older guys brought down two young guns at the World Golf Match Play Shoot in Texas.

Billy Horschel (pictured), 34 years of age took on the hot shot 24-year old Scottie Scheffler to win the ultimate big prize and the massive check for US$1.82 million.

Horschel got to the final round with wins over Kevin Streelman, Tommy Fleetwood and then France’s Victor Perez. In the finals, the spunky Floridian took down Scheffler, 2 and 1, to claim the title.

Horschel, has not won a sanctioned PGA Tour event since taking the 2018 Zurich Classic with Scott Piercy and an individual title since the 2017 AT&T Byron Nelson.

The young gun Scheffler reached the final shoot-out after knocking out Ian Poulter, Jon Rahm and Matt Kuchar. Although he’s yet to win on the PGA Tour, Scheffler came in as the 30th seed in this event and was the top remaining seed.

Meanwhile, the other veteran Kuchar, aged 42 who has a long history of success at this event, won the consolation match over the 28-year old Perez, 2 and 1.
