Happy Birthday Danielle!

Danielle Kang (pictured) put on a spunky performance to run away with the win at the 2019 Buick LPGA Shanghai, a tournament that she won last year.

The 27-year old birthday girl defended her title with a one-shot victory. She started the day a shot off the lead at the China LPGA-US LPGA Tour co-sanctioned event, closed with a round of 70 for a 72-hole score of 16-under 272. Today’s win was Kang’s third LPGA title and it earned the San Francisco native US$315,000.

Overnight leader Jessica Korda was runner-up and the Asian challenge ended with China’s Liu Yu (65) who was equal third with Japanese Nasa Hataoka (68).

Reigning World No. 1 Ko Jin-young closed with a 69 to sit equal ninth at 9-under.
