Glorious Day For Asia At The Masters!

Asian stars have started seriously knocking on the door of golf’s most prestigious tournaments. The 2020 Masters at Augusta National was witness to the rise of top professionals from Asia demonstrating that they have the game to challenge for the highest honours in the game of golf.

South Korea’s 22-year old phenom, Sungjae Im (pictured) displayed incredible maturity and skill to garner the second place at the Masters which was won by American Dustin Johnson. Coming in second to the world’s number one player and winner of the green jacket is huge testimony to Im’s rise in golf. His final score was 15-under par.

He was crowned as the PGA Tour’s Rookie Of The Year in 2018-19 and got his first PGA Tour victory at The Honda Classic in March 2020

He was Rookie of the Year for the 2018–19 PGA Tour. Im won twice and was Player of the Year on the 2018 Web.com Tour.

Besides Im’s incredible performance, Taiwan’s C.T. Pan (pictured) finished in 8th place with a total score of 10-under par.

To have two Asian stars in the top ten of the leaderboard is historic and if the 8-under finish of Japanese ace Hideki Matsuyama is added to the list, Asian stars are well on their way to follow the legendary Y.E. Yang in winning majors.
