Here Comes The Boss!
At age 43, former world number one and arguably the greatest golf legend of all time has won again.
Not only did he win but he did it in grand style at the inaugural ZOZO Championship, the PGA Tour’s first ever tournament in golf crazy Japan.
With the win, Tiger Woods (pictured) claimed his 82nd career PGA Tour title to tie fellow American Sam Snead’s record for most tournament wins.
Tiger finished ahead of local favourite Hideki Matsuyama in the rain-delayed tournament. It was Tiger’s first victory since claiming the Masters title in April.
For his win, Tiger earned a check for US$1,755,000 while Matsuyama took home US$1,053,000.
Tied for third place was the reigning South Korean PGA Tour Rookie Of The Year Sung Jae Im while another South Korean, Byeong Hun An was tied for 8th.
All told, a historic day for Asia as three of its top stars made the top ten of the leaderboard.
