“Bad Boy” Reed Mauls Torrey Pines!
After stirring up some controversy resulting from a flare up over an embedded ball during round three of the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open, Patrick Reed (pictured) had the last laugh, and a mighty one at that, when he beat Torrey Pines down to its knees to claim the tournament title.
The man who once declared that he was not treated seriously by the professional game, hammered his way to a convincing total score of 14-under par, a clear five-stroke lead over the chasing pack.
Nobody could keep pace with Reed who was in torrid form and clearly demonstrated that he has a strong head on his shoulders – one so strong that no controversy could side-track him.
With an incredible short game, Reed held off Tony Finau, Jon Rahm, Viktor Hovland, Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele.
Well done Reed! You are a class act! Reed’s pay-day was US$1.35 million!
